SIGNATURE TALAYSAY TALKING TREES TOUR - CUSTOM GROUP AT STANLEY PARK

Tour Description: Each plant, each tree has its own special story. Explore Vancouver’s iconic Stanley Park, Beaver Lake, with our local Indigenous guide - cultural ambassador who will highlight how the local trees and plants of the Pacific Northwest have been harvested by our people for food, medicine and technology for thousands of years. Our guides are members of local Indigenous communities and the surrounding region.  They will share our ecological practices, ancient and contemporary history, stories, legends and Indigenous ways of living with you.

Options for all fitness levels.  Talking Trees Walking Tour is approximately 2.2 km and we walk at a leisurely pace with frequent stops to explore and discuss.  

Minimum Group size:  10 people.

What to wear/bring: good walking shoes.  Wear layers with the changing seasons.  Sunglasses, sunscreen and hats in the warm weather are recommended.  Umbrellas if raining.  Warm rain resistent coats, toques/hats and gloves in the winter season.

Who we are: Talaysay Tours, owned by Candace and Larry Campo, Shíshálh (Sechelt) and Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish) First Nation, offer you an enriched cultural outdoor experience. Talaysay Tours is an Indigenous owned award winning tour company for Outstanding Customer Service and has been selected by Trip Advisor in 2018 and 2019 for Certificate of Excellence.  

What to expect on your Tour:   We respect the schedules of all of our guests attending our cultural experiences and tours.  All of our tours begin promptly.  If one of your team members misses the tour, there will be no cash reimbursement but the individual can join a future scheduled tour in another group when there is room.  Reviewing the meeting location well in advance is recommended.  

When you book, you will receive a confirmation email and a receipt of payment from our office manager  Christine with the itinerary details for your tour which will include digital maps links of our meeting location and a photo of the Gazebo.

Your guide will be waiting at the Gazebo 15 minutes prior to every tour.   When booking, for customer service needs, we ask you to provide the first names of all guests.  Your guide is trained within our tribal cultural protocols to be your host and deliver and share an indigenous cultural experience.  All questions are welcome.  We like all of our guests to enjoy themselves and have fun.  This tour is recommended for children 12 and older.  Parental discretion:  If your child is younger and you think that this tour suitable for them, we will be happy to have your child attend.  

Cancellation:  48 hours prior to tour 20% administration fee

Covid Safety Practices:  We are following all Covid safety guidelines as they change and adapt to the health needs of our community.    We ask guests to use hand sanitizer before and after all tours.  At present we are not shaking hands and will happily share  how we say thank you the Coast Salish hand gesture. We will not be sharing our traditional drink during this period of managing the covid curve.  

If you have any allergies or medical conditions you think we should know, please give us a call or send us an email.  If you are sick or have a fever, we ask you to stay home and we will reschedule you within our scheduled operational season.
