Talking Totems Tour - Indigenous art walk in Stanley Park is a culturally enriched tour program for groups who have 1 hr or less.  

Tour DescriptionThis culturally enriched walking tour provides an introduction and comprehensive profile of Salish and Northwest Coast Indigenous art. Your guide, cultural-ambassador, trained Indigenous artist, and member of the local Salish tribes will share with you how the totems in Stanley Park showcase the rich eclectic representation of Northwest Coast peoples, including the art forms, stories and worldviews of Salish peoples’ Squamish, Musqueam and Tsleil Waututh Nations who have lived in this region from time immemorial. 

Talking Totems is a program designed to accomodate groups operating on a tight schedule who would like to enjoy a comprehensive cultural enriched Indigenous art and histoy experience.

Includes: Indigenous Cultural Ambassador Interpretive Guide trained within our tribal cultural protocols to be your host and deliver and share an authentic Indigenous cultural experience.  Sometimes we have a co-guide, a trainer and or a trainee. The tour is rich with Indigenous stories and interpretation. Guests have the opportunity to discuss and ask questions during the tour and or in the last 15 minutes of the tour.  

What to bring: We walk on light rainy days and encourage visitors to love our rain forest coast, just as the locals do. Dress for the seasonal weather, water proof or repellent outerwear, layered clothing, good walking shoes with traction, water bottle. Masks are optional at the preference of guests.

Guest protocol: We recommend arriving 15 minutes prior to the tour as all of our scheduled tours start promptly. We ask guests to provide enough time to park and locate your guide. Questions and photos are welcomed throughout the tours. Be sure to tag us on social media you can find Talaysay Tours on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.

Safety: Talaysay Tours follow the current provincial Covid safety guidelines and best practices. We continue to practice 2 meter safe distancing and ask for guests' support in maintaining safety guidelines. For your safety and the safety of our guides, we do not shake hands but will share our Salish greeting and farewell with you. If you have any symptoms, cold or flu, we ask you to join us at a later date. Payment: We accept Visa and Mastercard. All tours will have 5% GST applied at time of payment. Payment is required to confirm your booking. Once payment is completed through the online booking system you will receive a full tour itinerary by email. 

Cancellations: All tours start on time. If guests are late and miss the tour there is no reimbursement. If weather is extreme with respect to rain or wind, The Talaysay team will consult and be in touch to reschedule your tour.

Individual walking tours require 48hrs cancellation notice, snowshoe tours 72hrs and group tours 10 days notice, and each have a 20% cancellation administration fee. Cancellations with less than the required notice are 100% non-refundable.
