Talking Trees Walk at Porpoise Bay Provincial Park
With Talaysay Tours August 25th(Community Group Tours)
Tour description: Each plant, each tree has its own special story. Explore the ancient village of klaath, today known as Porpoise Bay Provincial Park, with Candace, a shishalh local guide and cultural ambassador. Along the way, your guide will point out local plants that were and continue to be harvested by the Shíshálh First Nations people for food, technology and medicine. Stories and discussions on Shishalh history, way of life and world view will be shared. Bring your drum if you want as we will be sharing a song or two! Options for all fitness levels.
What to wear/bring: good walking shoes and dress for the weather. Sunscreen, hats, sunglasses for sunny weather and shell jackets and or umbrellas if raining.
