Meeting Location:  Bus Loop (in approximation to the Stanley Park Pavilion and the Stanley Park Mini Train) - Stanley Park.   Our guide will be ready 15 minutes prior to the tour start waiting at the Gazebo right in the bus loop. What to bring: Dress for the weather. Layered clothing and good walking shoes with traction are recommended. In the fall and winter months, togues (beanies), scarves, gloves are recommended and a warm, rain resistant coat. Link to our location:  If you are arriving by Taxi some taxi's are not permitted in the park and will drop you off on the edge of the park. This can effect your ability to reach our tour on time. Welcome to our Talking Trees Tour - How our People utilize the land for food, medicine and technology.  

We are so happy your can join us on our signiture Talking Trees Tour in beautiful Stanley Park.  We have many storyies, indigenous plant knowledge and highlights to share with you and yours.  

Stanley Park Bus Loop (in approximation to the Stanley Park Pavilion and the Stanley Park Mini Train) - Stanley Park.

What to bring:  Please dress warm for the fall weather weather.  Layered clothing and rain resistant clothing is highly recomended.  Hats, caps, gloves and scarves help you stay cozy warm and enjoy your experience with us.  Good walking shoes with traction.

 Winter Schedule:  We are closed for independent travel but will do select, booked in advance groups of 10 or more.  If you have slightly less than 10 participants at $65 per participation, you have the option of paying our base rate of $650.00 per group.  If you have more than 10 guests each guest is $65 pp.

Talaysay Tours primarily does group tours but we have designated three days to work with the public.

Every Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday 12:00pm -1:30pm                                                       Duration:  1:5hrs   

Group Minimum:  10 Guests    

Maximum: 20 Guests (per guide) 


NOTE:  If you book as an individual and no one else has booked, we will notify you 48 hours in advance.  You can select another date,  a future booking credit or  request a refund.

Tour Description: Each plant, each tree has its own special story. Explore Vancouver’s iconic Stanley Park, Beaver Lake, with our local Indigenous guide - cultural ambassador who will highlight how the local trees and plants of the Pacific Northwest have been harvested by our people for food, medicine and technology for thousands of years. Our guides are members of local Indigenous communities and the surrounding region.  They will share our ecological practices, ancient and contemporary history, stories, legends and Indigenous ways of living with you.

Options for all fitness levels.  Talking Trees Walking Tour is approximately 2.2 km and we walk at a leisurely pace with frequent stops to explore and discuss.  

What to wear/bring: good walking shoes.  Wear layers with the changing seasons.  Sunglasses, sunscreen and hats in the warm weather are recommended.  Umbrellas if raining.  Warm rain resistent coats, toques/hats and gloves in the winter season.

Who we are: Talaysay Tours, owned by Candace and Larry Campo, Shíshálh (Sechelt) and Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish) First Nation, offer you an enriched cultural outdoor experience. 

What to expect on your Tour:   We respect the schedules of all of our guests attending our cultural experiences and tours.  All of our tours begin promptly.  If you miss your tour, there will be no reimbursement.  Reviewing the meeting location well in advance is recommended.  

When you book, you will receive a confirmation email and a receipt of payment from our office manager  Christine with the itinerary details for your tour which will include digital maps links of our meeting location and a photo of the Gazebo.

Your guide Talaysay Guide-Cultural Ambassador will be waiting at the Gazebo 15 minutes prior to every tour.   When booking, for customer service needs, we ask you to provide the first names of all guests.  Your guide is trained within our tribal cultural protocols to be your host and deliver and share an indigenous cultural experience.  All questions are welcome.  We like all of our guests to enjoy themselves and have fun.  This tour is recommended for children 12 and older.  Parental discretion:  If your child is younger and you think that this tour suitable for them, we will be happy to have your child attend.  

Cancellation:  48 hours prior to tour 20% administration fee

Cancellation:  Within 48 hours is 100% Non Refundable

Group Cancellation:  Up to 10 days prior to tour 20% administration fee

Group Cancellation:  Within 10 days prior to tour 100% non refundable 

Covid Safety Practices:  Talaysay Tours is following the present Covid Policy and Best Practices.   We follow the 2 meter distance safety practice and ask for your support in maintaining this safety guideline.  We ask guests to use hand sanitizer before and after all tours.  At present we are not shaking hands and will happily share  how we say thank you the Coast Salish hand gesture. We will not be sharing our traditional drink during this period of managing the covid curve.  

If you have any allergies or medical conditions you think we should know, please give us a call or send us an email.  If you are sick or have a fever, we ask you to stay home and we will reschedule you within our scheduled operational season.
