Playing in the forest. This is my wolf pose. I work in the forest for a living but when ever I have an afternoon or morning off, it's likely I will go to the forest to hike, play and take in the medicine of the land.
My grand-mother Sarah Jane was born in 1909. I carry her ancestral name Xets'emits'a
and translates "To always be there". In this picture she's holding Indian Hellibore, a very potent medicine.
My great grandmother Molly's ?an was born in the late 1800's. She was a master basket weaver and her life inspires me to be all that I can be for my family and community.
